Pastoral

Here at The Stockwood Park Academy, we strive to achieve inclusion and access to a positive learning experience for all our students, in an environment where they feel safe and able to seek support when they need it.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood to adolescence through adulthood.

Below are some of the ways that we support the mental health of our students at The Stockwood Park Academy.

If you are worried about the mental health or wellbeing of a student, please get in touch by calling or via email safeguarding@thesharedlearningtrust.org.uk

How Students can Access Support

  • Students can speak to any member of staff about their concerns and will be referred to our pastoral team for support
  • Staff frequently refer students to the pastoral team for support if they have noticed that a child may be struggling
  • There is a levelled support intervention programme for students identified at our inclusion strategy meetings

If you are a parent or carer and want to refer your child for support, please do not hesitate to contact the safeguarding team or your child's Head of Year. Please get in touch by calling or via email safeguarding@thesharedlearningtrust.org.uk

Restorative practice seeks to support the students' understanding of their behaviour and repair the harm caused. Restorative conversations are held between students to seek to resolve further conflict.

Restorative conversations are also held between staff and students to support relationships and access to learning. From these meetings, targets are set, actions plans made and recorded and review dates set.

Restorative justice for behaviour incidents include community service, litter picking at lunch and more.
